S. Sacher The Delaware Data Mapping and Integration Laboratory (DataMIL) is an interactive, on-line collaboratory developed by the University of Delaware, State of Delaware, and the United States Geological Survey. Its function is to provide a seamless, continuously maintained set of geographic base information (including Delaware's Spatial Data Framework) that serves as a foundation for integrating, sharing, and using other data easily and consistently. Composed of several key components - web-based and standards-based mapping services, feedback mechanisms among users and data maintainers, FGDC/ISO-compliant metadata integration, map product generation, and data distribution - DataMIL was chosen by the USGS as a pilot project to implement the USGS National Map vision.
