Chappell, Mark Merry, Gustavo de Souza and Hamish James The History Data Service is involved in a project to enhance access to our Historical Censuses Collection. Along with the LTSN Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology, we are making the Historical Censuses Collection more accessible by making it available as an online integrated package of data, primary and secondary texts and images, student guides, exercises and teacher guides. The end product will be suitable for the study and teaching of many aspects of nineteenth century British studies. The work is being carried out as part of the CHCC Project, a major 3-year collaborative project funded by the JISC http://www.jisc.ac.uk under the Distributed National Electronic Resource (DNER) programme http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/. The project runs from October 2000 to September 2003 and the partners are MIMAS, the Leeds School of Geography, the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research, the History Data Service, the LTSN Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology and the UK Data Archive.
